Signatures of histamine release in continuous physiological data

Abstract

We explore whether histamine-associated physiological responses leave characteristic, detectable signatures in continuous data streams collected from wearable sensing.

Why histamine

Histamine is one of the best-known mast cell mediators, and its downstream effects — vascular, cardiac, thermoregulatory — are physiologically measurable. This makes it a natural target for indirect, non-invasive tracking.

Observed patterns

Across continuous recordings, we identify recurring temporal patterns that co-occur with reported histamine-driven symptoms, suggesting that indirect signatures can complement direct biochemical testing.

Limitations and next steps

Indirect signals are not a substitute for validated biochemical assays. Our aim is complementary: to flag likely windows for attention and correlation, not to replace clinical testing.
