Abstract
We examine the correlation between continuously measured inflammation-associated markers and patient-reported symptom severity, testing whether objective signals track subjective experience.
Bridging objective and subjective
Patient-reported symptoms are the ground truth of lived experience, but they are hard to quantify consistently. Pairing them with objective, continuous signals lets each validate and contextualize the other.
Results
We observe meaningful correlations between objective marker trajectories and reported severity, with the strongest agreement when multiple signals are combined and personalized to the individual.
Clinical relevance
Objective correlates of symptom severity can help care teams track change over time and evaluate whether an intervention is working.
