We characterize skin temperature dynamics during flares, examining how thermoregulatory changes appear in continuous wearable recordings.
Why temperature
Flushing and thermoregulatory change are common in mast cell activation, and skin temperature is directly and continuously measurable at the wrist or skin surface.
Dynamics observed
Continuous recordings reveal characteristic rise-and-recovery patterns around reported flares, with timing and magnitude that vary meaningfully between individuals.
Toward personalization
Because temperature baselines and responses differ per person, models benefit from calibrating to each individual rather than assuming a population norm.
